Business Development and Training Consultant
Michael Thompson is a veteran Business Development and Training professional, and brings over 25 years of corporate experience from the packaging, management consulting and healthcare industries.
In the areas of sales and marketing, Michael gained recognition for his creative problem solving and account penetration skills. As a Strategic Account Manager, he grew territories in the New England, MidAtlantic and Southeastern markets. He had a similar impact as Market Development Manager where he led successful regional campaigns for a line of specialty packaging products.
Michael is an accomplished trainer and facilitator and has led training programs covering such topics as Diversity and Inclusion, Unconscious Bias, Health Literacy, Cultural Competency, and High-Performance Team Building. Known for his engaging and versatile style, Michael successfully facilitated hundreds of sessions for Fortune 500 and 1000 companies.
Michael also worked as a health insurance producer where he was responsible for helping brokers sell health benefit plans and leading open enrollment projects. He moderated industry panel discussions, facilitated broker workshops, managed employee coverage disputes, and was a featured spokesperson for a regional ad campaign entitled “Health Insurance that Pays.” Michael later became a fellow of the Health Literacy Curriculum Development & Educational Leadership Institute at Tufts University.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Business from Morris College and a Master’s degree in Technical Writing with a specialty in Training and Development from Bowling Green State University.
